Patricia J. Powers

Patricia J. (Loomis) Powers, 88, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family, on Monday, June 2, 2025, in Homewood Living, Williamsport, MD, where she had resided for the past three years. Born July 20, 1936, in Oswego, NY, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Madeline (Bryson) Loomis.

She was a graduate of Oswego High School with the Class of 1954. Patricia was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Burt J. Asper Post 46 American Legion, and Charles Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW, all in Chambersburg. Patricia was also a member of Candle Sense Bowling Club. She volunteered at Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter and the Chambersburg Hospital for a number of years. She loved playing bingo, bowling, and crafting.

She is survived by five children, Kathleen Stoner of Fayetteville, Karen Keefer of Chambersburg, Cynthia Marino and husband Ralph of Chambersburg, Colleen Woy and husband Kevin of Chambersburg, and Charles Powers and wife Michelle of Fayetteville; ten grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two siblings, Richard Loomis of Layton, UT, and Linda King of Oswego, NY; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James I. Powers, who passed away December 25, 2010, and three siblings, Florence Ladd, Irene Clark, and Jack Loomis.

Graveside services will be held 10:30 AM, Monday, June 9, 2025, in Corpus Christi Cemetery, 661 Lincoln Way West, Chambersburg, PA 17201 with Rev. Adam Leeper officiating.

The family will receive friends from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM, Monday morning, in the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter, 5051 Letterkenny Road W, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
