Phyllis G. Hines

Phyllis G. (Taylor) Hines, 77, of Chambersburg, PA passed away Tuesday, October 28, 2025 in the Chambersburg Hospital. Born October 30, 1947 in Chambersburg she was the daughter of the late David and Phyllis (Young) Taylor.

She attended Chambersburg Area Schools and later obtained her GED. Phyllis was employed as a physical therapy assistant and CNA for many years working at Caledonia Manor and Manor Care nursing homes throughout her career. She enjoyed crocheting, reading comic books, playing on her iPad, and spending time with her family and beloved dog, Caesar.

Phyllis is survived by two siblings, Patricia Ransom of Harrisburg and Gerald Taylor of Chambersburg, PA; five nieces and nephews who she raised, Julia Plum, Urese Taylor, Ryan Taylor, Bryan Taylor, and Shanna Flowers; three grandchildren, Alexandria, Joshua, and Gabriel Plum and several other nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings, Shirley Aiken, David Taylor, and Margaret Martin.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM, Friday, November 14, 2025 in the Chapel of the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202 with Rev. Renata Moseley Harper officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Friday afternoon in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to John Wesley AME Zion Church, 155 W. Catherine Street, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
