Randall Ray "Randy" Rotz, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, faithful servant of Christ, and respected member of the Chambersburg community, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born on June 2, 1943, Randy was the son of the late Ray and Ethel Rotz. He graduated from St. Thomas High School with the Class of 1961 and went on to build a life marked by hard work, service, and deep commitment to his family and community.

Randy began his career with James River Corporation and later with the American Can Company before joining his father in the family business, Minute Car Wash on Loudon Street in 1968 in Chambersburg. Carrying forward his entrepreneurial spirit, Randy built and opened the Rain Tunnel Car Wash on Orchard Drive in Chambersburg in 1991, where he became well known for his dedication to his customers and the community. Through his work, Randy earned the respect of many for his integrity, strong work ethic, and friendly demeanor. Today, the Rain Tunnel Car Wash stands as a thriving fourth-generation family business, a testament to Randy's vision, perseverance, and commitment to creating a lasting legacy for generations to come.

A man of faith, Randy loved his church and found great joy in worship through music. For many years, he faithfully shared his gift of singing as a member of The Beacons, touching countless lives through their ministry. He also served faithfully on the church board and property committee at St. Thomas United Methodist Church.

Randy believed deeply in serving his community. He was a dedicated member of the George Washington Masonic Lodge and faithfully served as Chairman of the Greene Township Sewer Authority for 27 years. His leadership, wisdom, and commitment left a lasting impact on the community he loved.

Outside of work and public service, Randy found his greatest happiness outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who cherished time spent at the family cabin, creating lifelong memories with family and friends. Randy was also a lifelong member of the NRA. Randy was also an accomplished bowler who enjoyed many years in local bowling leagues. Whether enjoying the woods, sharing stories around camp, or gathering for family celebrations, Randy treasured every opportunity to be with those he loved.

Randy was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Ethel Rotz; his beloved first wife of 52 years, Judy Rotz; and his son-in-law, Troy Todd.

He is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Nancy Rotz, whose faithful love, compassion, and constant care brought him great comfort and joy. Nancy remained by his side with unwavering devotion throughout their years together.

Randy is also survived by his two daughters, Lori Edmondson and her husband, John, and Suzanne Poe and her husband, Bill. He was a proud and loving grandfather to Hunter Edmondson; Carter Edmondson and his wife, Brie Ann, and their son, Trey Randall Edmondson; Ryan Todd; Brooke Poe and her husband, Alex; and Lexy Poe Martin and her husband, Chase, and their sons, Deklan and Callahan.

Through his marriage to Nancy, Randy was also blessed with a loving blended family, including his stepdaughter, Beth David and her husband, Shai, and their children, Claudia, Casandra, and Caylen; and his stepson, Nick Robertson and his wife, Sherri.

Those who knew Randy will remember his quiet strength, gentle spirit, steadfast faith, warm smile, and willingness to serve others. His life reflected the values of humility, hard work, and devotion to God, family, and community. His legacy lives on through the family he cherished, the lives he touched, the business he faithfully built, and the example he set for future generations.
