Raymond Day

Raymond Day, 85, of Fayetteville, passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at his home. Born October 19, 1937 in Orrstown, he was a son of the late Wilmer and Luella Amsley Day. His beloved wife, Sharon H. Day preceded him in death in 2008.

Raymond is survived by five children, Randy Day of Murphy, NC, Robin Knight of Fayetteville, Ricky Day (Sheila) of Pickens, SC, Raymond Day, Jr. (Kari) of Easley, SC and Robert Day (Renee) of Mont Alto; two step-children, Charlie Helman (Kim) of Fayetteville, and Lisa Payne of Deltona, FL; 16 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and one sibling, Delores Falcone of Chambersburg. Aside from his parents and wife, Raymond was preceded in death by a grandson, William Brandon Peake; and three siblings, Lloyd Day, Jacqueline Brindle, and Saundra Kelley.

Raymond served honorably in the US Air Force. He was employed as a Production Supervisor with James River for 37 years. After his retirement, he drove truck for Jerr-Dan. He is a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Chambersburg. He enjoyed golf, fishing, hunting, boating, NASCAR, and was an avid fan of all Philadelphia sports teams and Penn State.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, June 9, 2023 in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.
