Rebecca E. Effland, 81, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 26, 2026 at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born November 28, 1944 in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late John A. and Mabel H. (Leevy) Guyer, and widow of the late Robert A. Effland, Jr.

She was a 1962 graduate of the former Chambersburg High School. She also attended the Franklin County Vo-Tech and graduated from LPN school in 1974. She was employed by the Chambersburg Hospital as an LPN for 25 years, retiring in 2000. She was a member of the Cornerstone Church in Chambersburg. She enjoyed working with her hands and dedicated many hours to gardening, sewing and crocheting. She also liked doing word puzzles.

She is survived by two daughters, Sueanne Simpson and Bobbi Perry; four grandchildren, Jacob, Jesse, Justin and Brianna; seven great grandchildren, Gillian, Miles, Naomi, Holly, Kieran, Zelda and Amaura; and one sibling, Marvin L. Barbour. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by siblings, Fred, Grant, Robert, Clarence and Margaret.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 31, 2026 at 10:00 AM in the Chapel of the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA, where Rev. Bob Hart will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg. Arrangements are entrusted to Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg, Pennsylvania.
