Reed McDonald, Jr., age 82, of Chambersburg, passed away on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at Menno Haven. Born on August 10, 1929 in Mercersburg, he was a son of the late Reed McDonald Sr and Esther May Pine McDonald. His wife, Cora Seville McDonald died July 12, 1983.
He was a mechanic supervisor with Memphis Equipment Co. working there for over 30 years. Then, he worked for 12 years at M & M self-serve gas. He was a member of both the Mercersburg VFW and American Legion.
Surviving is his daughter, Carolyn (Barry) Rodgers, a son, David (Josephine) McDonald of Chambersburg; three step children, Doris McDonald of Mercersburg; Donald (Darlene) Seville of Shippensburg and Judy (Marvin) Shaefer of Greencastle,
Three grandchildren, twelve step-children, twenty-three grandchildren, one step-grandson and nine great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a brother, Charles McDonald of Mercersburg , Pa.,a sister, Pauline Hull of Hagerstown, Md., and a step-sister, Betty Gardenhour of Waynesburg, Pa. He was preceded in death by two sisters, one brother,and a step-grandson.
Family and friends are invited to graveside services on Monday May 21, 2012 at 1:00 PM in Parklawns Memorial Garden with the Rev. Rick Egolf officiating.
