Richard Drawbaugh

Richard Wayne Drawbaugh, 74, of Chambersburg, PA passed away unexpectedly on Thursday July 6, 2023 at his home. Born June 29, 1949 in Chambersburg, he was the son of the late Richard Wayne and Mabel McKenzie Drawbaugh. Mr. Drawbaugh was a 1967 graduate of the Chambersburg Area Senior High School and served honorably with the US Air Force during the Vietnam Era. He retired after 33 years from Grove Manufacturing where he worked as a shipping and receiving manager. He was a faithful member of Cornerstone Church of Christ where he was a former Elder and volunteered his time coordinating anything that needed repaired at the church. He was a train enthusiast and was member of the Railroad Historical Society and Burt J. Asper Post 46 American Legion, both in Chambersburg as well as Friends of Meadow Grounds Lake in Fulton County.

Mr. Drawbaugh is survived by his wife, Kaye L. Kessler Drawbaugh, whom he married April 14, 1995; his son, Ryan Drawbaugh and wife Marcy of Chambersburg; daughter Amy Wilson of Chambersburg; step-daughter Stephanie Wenger and husband Chet of St. Thomas; three grandsons, Logan, Kaden, and Cody Drawbaugh; five step-grandchildren, Rick Hershey, Dillon Wenger, Chris Strohm, Brooke Strohm, and Johnathan Strohm; three step-great-grandchildren, Austin Hershey, Gabriel Hershey, and Colt Farrow; his sister Shirley Drawbaugh Erdley and husband Richard of Beaver Springs, PA; step-daughter-in-law Angie Strohm of Newville; and brother-in-law Harold Gomer of Chambersburg. In addition to his, parents, he was preceded in death by his step-son, Steve Strohm in 2017 and his sisters, Martie Gomer and Judith Drawbaugh.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 from Noon until services begin at 1:00 PM at Grand Point Church, 2230 Grand Point Road, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. Jerry Timbrook will officiate. Interment will follow at Lincoln Cemetery. A reception will be held at Grand Point Church immediately following the interment.
