Richard E. Funk

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Richard Earl Funk on December 25, 2025. He is mourned by his daughters, Linda Durr and Sharon Nobert and grandchildren, Emily and William Durr. Richard was a graduate of Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and a lifelong employee of the Radio Corporation of America. (RCA). He received the David Sarnoff Award for Outstanding Technical Achievement in 1985 and served as an active member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) in the 1980s. Richard loved gardening, running, model trains, skiing, playing chess, and in retirement, playing golf. Donations to the Prostate Cancer Foundation can be made in Richard’s honor. A celebration of Richard’s life will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, January 31, 2026, in the chapel at SpiriTrust Lutheran, The Village at Luther Ridge, 2735 Luther Drive, Chambersburg, PA 17202. Chaplain Amy Wagner will officiate. Arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg, PA.
