Robert L. “Bob” Wenger, 75, of Chambersburg, PA, Bob went home to the Lord on August 5th, 2026, after a long struggle with his health. Born March 23, 1951, in Chambersburg, he was the son of the late Harry and Dorothy (Hoover) Wenger. Bob was a lifelong car enthusiast and mechanic who dedicated his entire career to the automotive industry. Throughout the years, he worked for General Motors and Beckner's Sunoco before retiring from A-1 Motors in 2013. His passion for automobiles extended beyond work, and he enjoyed attending car shows and taking leisurely drives through the countryside, often admiring the flowers along the way.
In addition to his love of cars, Bob enjoyed riding horses and had a lifelong affection for dogs. His father raised German Shepherds, and his mother cherished Schnauzers, helping foster his love for animals from an early age. Over the years, Bob and his wife shared their home and hearts with four beloved Shelties.
Above all else, Bob treasured the time he spent with his family. His greatest joy came from being surrounded by those he loved and creating lasting memories with them.
He is survived by his loving wife, Marlene M. (Simonin) Wenger of Chambersburg; his beloved daughter, Sandi Guyer (Randy) of Fayetteville, PA; stepchildren, Chad Shank, Tara Gettel, and Michael Gettel; grandchildren, Megan Guyer (Steve Peragine) and Amanda Guyer (Tyler Kirwin), both of Chambersburg; a great-grandson, Caleb Peragine; siblings, Ronnie Wenger (Judy) of Chambersburg, Patricia Snyder (the late Jay) of Gardners, PA, Donna Summers of Chambersburg, Pam Yaniovak (Frank) of Sebastian, FL, Daryl Wenger (Wendy) of Fayetteville, and Tony Wenger of Chambersburg; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
