Rodger Miller, 86, of Mercersburg, PA, passed away on Friday, October 10, 2025, with his family by his side. Born October 4, 1939, in McVeytown, PA, he was the son of the late Kenneth William and Ruth Alfretta Greene Miller. His beloved wife of 65 years, Jo Anne Price Miller, whom he married on June 13, 1959 in Alexandria, PA, preceded him in death on December 26, 2024.
Rodger served honorably in the US Army from 1959-1967. He continued his service as an electronic technician for the federal government until his retirement in 1993. Rodger was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served five years as Bishop of the Chambersburg 1st Ward. He also served two missions for the church: an eight month mission at the Washington DC Temple, and 18 months in Denver, CO.
He is survived by three children, Michael S. Miller (wife Paula) of Denton, MD, Rodger C. Miller of St. Thomas, PA, and Kimberly Jo McCray (husband Gary) of Mercersburg, PA; eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren; and one sister, Donna Jean Miller of VA. Aside from his wife and parents, Rodger was preceded in death by his son, Toby Lynn Miller; his sister, Alice Kaye Nickolas; and his brother, Thomas Miller.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, October 17, 2025, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; 50 Ragged Edge, Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202. Interment will follow in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church. Arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas L.
