Rodney Lee Appleby

Rodney Lee Appleby, 69, of Shippensburg, passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at his home. Born September 13, 1955, in Chambersburg, he was a son of the late James Eugene Appleby, Sr., and Leona Mae Walker Appleby.

Rodney was a 1973 graduate of James Buchanan High School. Early in his life, he was employed at Martin’s Machine Shop. Most recently, he was self-employed as an independent contractor doing construction and home improvement projects with his business, Apple Home Improvement. In his spare time, Rodney enjoyed being outdoors hunting, fishing, camping, and going for walks and hikes.

He is survived by six siblings: Steven Appleby of Fleetwood, PA, Brenda Appleby of Greensboro, NC, Terry Appleby (wife Janet) of St. Thomas, James E. Appleby, Jr. of Chambersburg, Donald Appleby of Randleman, NC, and Charles Appleby of St. Thomas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. Alan Wilson will officiate.
