Ronald E. "Buck" Shadle

Ronald E. “Buck” Shadle, 85, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at WellSpan Chambersburg Hospital. He was born on April 18, 1941, in Fountain, PA to the late Wayne E. and Ruby I. Shadle.

Pursuing his passion for dairy farming, Buck attended Pennsylvania State University and graduated in 1964, earning his bachelor’s degree in animal husbandry. He was a past member of the Young Farmers Association. For many years, his farm served as one of the milk producers for many years for the Land O’Lakes company. He was a member of the Chambersburg Alliance Church in Chambersburg, PA. He will be remembered for his powerful and distinct singing voice.

He is survived by his wife, whom he married on May 17, 1964, Merilyn D. “Tina” Shadle of Chambersburg, PA; daughters Penny Myers Harvey (Doug) of St. Thomas, PA; Pamela Mackling (Keith) of Greencastle, PA; grandchildren Anthony Myers (Samantha) of Denver, CO; Andrew Myers (Emma) of Pittsburgh, PA; Susan Lochstampfor (Ben) of Honeybrook, PA; Abigail Sanders (Andrew) of Mechanicsburg, PA; great grandchildren Conrad Lochstampfor and Dean Lochstampfor; sisters Carolyn Unger (Richard) of Norristown, PA; Kaye Probst of Mechanicsburg, PA; Mary Lou Insinger (Bob) of Prospect Park, PA; nieces and nephews whom were raised by Buck and Tina, Wayne, Twila, and Ray; and numerous other nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son-in-law Jeff Myers.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 11, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Chambersburg Alliance Church, 230 Siloam Road, Chambersburg, PA 17201 with Pastor Jeff McCracken officiating. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery in St. Thomas, PA. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Friday, from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM at the church.
