Salinda D. Feldman, age 89, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, at the Martin House of Brookview Health Care Center at MennoHaven.
Born April 8, 1937, in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of Robert W. Ankerbrand and Junia M. Small Ankerbrand.
In her youth, Salinda was a proud member of the Girl Scouts and the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS). Salinda graduated with honors from Chambersburg High School, Class of 1955, where she received an American Legion Americanism Medal Award. She went on to graduate from the Polyclinic Hospital School of Nursing, where she earned her nursing degree in 1958. While at Polyclinic, she distinguished herself as an accomplished basketball player, a lifelong passion that remained an important part of her life.
Salinda was a Registered Nurse at Chambersburg Hospital, where she worked primarily on the pediatric floor. Later in life, she obtained her real estate license and worked alongside her husband, Ralph M. Feldman, Jr., at Coldwell Banker Ralph Feldman, Inc.
Salinda will be remembered for her kind and nurturing spirit and for the many things she loved: children, animals, gardening, and athletics. She raised swans and other waterfowl, including her beloved Casper and Matilda. A self-taught gardener, she found daily peace, pleasure, and beauty in her garden at Conocodell, which reflected her patience, creativity, and love of nature.
She remained the family champion at basketball and ping pong and was a fierce and enthusiastic competitor. She particularly enjoyed March Madness brackets and football pools, where she frequently emerged victorious and thoroughly enjoyed the accompanying accolades.
Salinda was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church and the Franklin County Historical Society.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ralph M. Feldman, Jr. She is survived by her brother, Robert W. Ankerbrand, Jr.; and her three children: Kim M. Feldman, along with children Jessica, Kira, Darryl, and Chutney and several great-grandchildren; Kendra Feldman McGuire and her husband, Joseph; and Ralph “Kip” Feldman, III, and his wife, Tammy, along with their children, Benjamin and his wife, Mariana Barrios Feldman, and Andrew.
Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Interment will follow at Norland Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg.
The family wishes to express its sincere gratitude to the staff at MennoHaven for the compassionate, exceptional care provided to Salinda over the past several years.
