Sandra Mowen Mills

Sandra K. Mowen Mills, 74, of Chambersburg, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born April 27, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Martin I. and Martha Mellott Mowen. Her beloved husband, Delnore F. “Dilly” Mills, preceded her in death on November 20, 2020.

Sandra was a 1966 graduate of McConnellsburg High School. She was employed for 25 years at the Stanley Company in Chambersburg. She and her late husband were the owner/operators of Dilly’s in Chambersburg for over 25 years. Most recently, Sandra worked at the Butcher Shoppe in Chambersburg for the past three years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, VFW Post 1599, Women of The Moose Post 842, the Pennsylvania Tavern Association, Franklin County Crime Solvers, Hungry Hearts, the Marine Corps League, and the AmVets Post 224. Sandra enjoyed volunteering at her church with Hungry Hearts, with the Chambersburg Noon Lions Club Trout Derby and with Chambersburg Meals on Wheels. She also enjoyed cooking, flower gardening and going to the beach.

She is survived by two daughters, Michele Eyler (Tom) of New Bern, NC, and Regina Warr (Jeffrey) of Inwood, WV; two step-children, Joseph A. Mills (Eva) of Marysville, and Marina Tolbert (Kevin Summers) of Chambersburg; four grandchildren, Dejon Rencher, Tylor Kolb, Latrell Warr, Michael Warr and LaKeisha Warr; three great grandchildren, Malcom Simpkins, Michaela Warr and Kai Warr; seven step grandchildren; and 13 step-great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at First United Methodist Church, 225 S. Second Street, Chambersburg, PA 17201. Rev. Steven Livermore will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be private. Arrangements are entrusted to Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Chambersburg, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church specifically for Hungry Hearts at the above address.
