Sarah Brooks

Sarah “Sally” Grace Brooks, 70, of Chambersburg, passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at UPMC Altoona Hospital. Born June 5, 1953, she was the daughter of the late Grace Gilbert Brooks.

Sarah was a 1972 graduate of Manheim Central High School. She later attended Shippensburg University. After college she enjoyed traveling and made a life for herself in New York City where she was an Accountant for many years. After having her Daughter she retired in Chambersburg and devoted her life to her late Mother and Daughter. She served on the PTO in Chambersburg and was elected to the CASD School Board in 2019. She was a donor to several local nonprofit organizations and was passionate about spreading love to all people. Later in life she enjoyed spending time with her Granddaughter and her dog, Laila and reconnecting with old friends.

She is survived by her daughter, Monet Brooks of Altoona; granddaughter, Riley Sluzynski of Altoona; and her cousin, Jack Handshaw of Fairfield; and many close friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, April 19, 2024 in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202. Rev. Dr. A. Robert Cook will officiate. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Friday afternoon in the funeral home.
