Sharon P. Dinterman

Sharon P. Dinterman, 88, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at Chambersburg Hospital, in Chambersburg, PA, surrounded by family. She was born on October 24, 1936, in Waynesboro, PA, to the late Harold and Bonalin (Stevens) Pittman.

Sharon received her Master’s Degree in teaching and went on to work for the Chambersburg Area School District until her retirement in 1997. She was a member at St. Paul United Methodist Church and was involved with the women’s group there. Teaching her students brought a lot of joy to her life. She was a hospital volunteer (3,500+ hours), enjoyed gardening, reading, Penn State football, traveling after retirement, and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Laura D. Semler, and her husband, Don, of Cincinnati, OH; and granddaughters, Abigail and Amelia. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Dinterman, and her daughter, Gretchen Groff.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 10:00 AM in the Chapel of the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202 with Rev. Dr. A. Robert Cook officiating. Burial will follow in Norland Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday, from 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM at the funeral home.
