Sherrill O. Kessinger

Chambersburg

  Sherrill O. Kessinger, 87, of Chambersburg, passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2024 in Hershey Medical Center.  Born on July 29, 1936 in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late David C. Ott and Janet Evans Ott.  She was the wife of Emmett O. Kessinger Jr., whom she married on November 24, 1955.
  A 1954 graduate of the former Chambersburg High School, Sherrill worked for many years as a real estate agent with Coldwell Banker.  Over the years she had also been employed with the Chambersburg Area School District, Chambersburg YMCA and the Fruitbelt Farmworker Christian Ministry.  She was a volunteer at Menno Haven for 17 years and an active member of First United Methodist Church.
  Aside from her husband, Emmett, she is survived by two daughters, Patti (Greg) Plasterer of Chambersburg and Betsy (John) Hefner of Athens, GA; and one brother, David (Nancy) Ott of Chambersburg. She will also be ever loved and greatly missed by her four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

  A memorial service to honor Sherrill’s life will be held at 11 am on Friday, May 17, in the sanctuary of First United Methodist Church 225 S.  2nd St. Chambersburg. There will be no visitation prior to the service, but the family invites all to join them in the church's Fellowship Hall directly following the service.  A private interment will be held in Lincoln Cemetery.  Arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas L.
