Shirley (Kennedy) Baker, 86, of Chambersburg, PA passed away Monday, January 26, 2026, in the Chambersburg Hospital. Born June 30, 1939, in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Maude (Oliver) Kennedy.

She was a graduate of Chambersburg Area Senior High School Class of 1958. Shirley was an executive secretary to the president of Nassau Hemsley, Chambersburg, PA. She was a faithful member of Marion First United Methodist Church where she was part of the Ambassador Sunday School Class, sang in the church choir, and taught Sunday School for 25 years. Shirley was also a member of the Marion Volunteer Fire Company and their Ladies Auxiliary. She was an avid Penn State Football and Pittsburgh Steelers fan, rarely missing a game. In her younger years, she was part of a bowling league at Nellie Fox Bowling Alley. Caring for others is what brought Shirley the most joy and happiness to her life.

She is survived by two children, Jimmy J. Baker and his wife Kimberly of Wesley Chapel, NC and Kimmy K. Bloch and her husband Gregory of Xenia, OH; two grandchildren, Meghan Starliper and Bradley Baker and his wife Svetlana; and four great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Ray “G. Ray” Baker who passed away September 3, 2009, and three brothers.

Services will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, February 5, 2026, in the Marion First United Methodist Church, 94 Colorado Street, Marion, PA 17235 with Pastor Brent Stouffer officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg. Arrangements are entrusted to Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services Thursday morning in the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either Marion First United Methodist Church at the above address or to Marion Volunteer Fire Co., PO Box 68, Marion, PA 17235.
