Susan Frederick

Susan D. “Sue” Frederick, 67, of Greencastle, PA passed away Sunday, January 28, 2024 in Magnolias of Chambersburg. Born August 3, 1956 in Shamokin, PA she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Emily (Derr) Derrick.

Following high school Sue attended Shippensburg State School and obtained her bachelor’s degree. She was a former member of the Chambersburg Quilt Guild. She was a current member of Buchanan Trail Quilters where she and her fellow members made quilts for the “Hugs and Kisses” program and donated to Hershey Pediatric Hospital. Sue was a volunteer at Better Days Animal League and she loved rescuing dogs throughout her life.

She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Patrick “Pat” Frederick; whom she married on March 15, 1980; two brothers, William Derrick and his wife Barbara and Jon Derrick; a number of nieces and nephews; her sister-in-laws, Bridget Tauscher and her husband Thomas Tauscher of Racine, WI, Janet Derrick of Shippensburg, PA and Sarah Gursky and her husband Frank of Union Grove, WI.; and her two dogs, Lenny and Ruby. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, Richard Derrick.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Chambersburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Better Days Animal League, P.O. Box 57, Shippensburg, PA 17257.
