Terry K. Auvil

Terry Keith Auvil, 82, of Chambersburg, passed away on Friday morning, November 7, 2025, at Providence Place of Chambersburg. Born September 1, 1943, in Steubenville, OH, he was the son of the late Clifford A. and Goldie G. Cathell Auvil. His beloved wife Louise Koslic Auvil, preceded him in death on December 5, 2017.

A US Army veteran, Terry served honorably for 24 years until his retirement as a Master Sergeant. Among his military awards, Terry earned the Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, Good Conduct Medal, the Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation Badge and several other medals during his service in the Vietnam War. After his illustrious military career, Terry was employed as a civilian contractor with the department of defense at Ft. Meade until his retirement.

He is survived by his grandson, Jared Knotts; and his son-in-law, James Knotts. Aside from his parents and wife, Terry was preceded in death by his daughter, Terriann Knotts.

Services will be private. Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg, PA. Condolences and memories may be shared at geiselfuneralhome.com.
