Vergie R. Phanelson, 86, of Greencastle, PA, died Tuesday, June 7, 2011 in Chambersburg Hospital. Born June 19, 1924 in Rockingham County, NC she was of the Baptist faith. Vergie enjoyed gardening, sewing, and watching the news.
She is survived by three children, Timothy Phanelson of Springfield, MO, Teresa Phanelson and husband Robert of Oxon Hill, MD, and Patrick Phanelson of Covington GA; fourteen grandchildren; one great-grandchild: and a sister, Glenora Jales of Axton, VA. She is preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
