Vickie Locke

Vickie Diane Locke, 68, of Concord, PA, passed away on Sunday, December 10, 2023 at her home. Born July 28, 1955 in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late Robert and June Mowen.

Vickie was a 1973 graduate of Chambersburg Area High School. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in English from Wilson College in 1999 and later her Master’s degree in 2002 from Shippensburg University. She was employed at Letterkenny Army Depot for 25 years. While there she worked in various positions and finished her employment in the Career Services department until her retirement. She later was employed as the Director, Learning Resource Center at Wilson College and as an adjunct professor of English. Vickie was an avid reader and a talented writer as well as a gifted editor. In her spare time she enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, auctions, television series, and movies. Vickie was more than a wife; she was a partner and best friend. As a mother she will be remembered as inspiring, warm, and compassionate. She was more than a mother to her daughters, she was their friend and a person they both aspired to mirror.

She is survived by her husband of almost 46 years, Thomas E. Locke, whom she married on January 6, 1978; two daughters, Kelly Summers (husband Brandon) and Katlin Elser (husband Damien); and four grandchildren, Rowan and Sybil Summers, and Liam and Finnegan Elser.

Service and interment will be private. Arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg, PA.
