William Sellers

William H. “Bill” Sellers, 88, of Chambersburg, passed away on Friday, May 3, 2024, at Silverado Memory Care in Frederick, MD. Born September 15, 1935, in Chambersburg, he was the third son of the late Harry and Gail Coble Sellers. His wife, Rosaline Boyer Sellers, whom he married on November 7, 1954, preceded him in death on February 7, 2012.

William retired from Grove Manufacturing in Shady Grove, PA in 1998 after 42 years of service. William’s greatest joy was spending time and watching his great grandson play football. He raced go-carts competitively while he was in his twenties and won first place several times. He enjoyed going hunting, playing cards, watching sports both in person and on TV, and playing the slot machine at any casino. He was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers and the New York Yankees. William loved to sit outside on his porch with family and friends and share stories of the past whether it was about playing ball at Portico Elementary School with his brothers, his two red Chevelles, or going to the dog races with friends.

William is survived by his daughter, Wanda Blatt of Gaithersburg, MD, his granddaughter, Heather Ledford and husband Dustan Ledford of Gaithersburg, MD, and great grandson, Bryce Ledford.

Services will be held 1:00 PM. Wednesday, May 8, 2024 in the Chapel of the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA with Rev. Murray B. Stevens officiating. Interment will follow in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Tuesday evening in the funeral home as well as one hour prior to the service Wednesday morning.
